2025 // Our Year in Review

What. A. Year. This past year was filled with some BIG professional highlights, while navigating some challenges behind the scenes. One of the most incredible things was that I was able to step away at moments and my team kept things rolling with such enthusiasm and thoughtfulness.

I am so lucky to have each member of the TBM Team: Amanda, Brittany, Christie, Kendall, Michelle, Karynn, Heather, Christina and Jessica. We are in such a groove working together that I am continually amazed at the efficiency at work as we navigate each project. We are small, but oh so mighty, when it comes to transforming cluttered spaces and meeting clients where they are at in their organizational journey.

I love having the opportunity to reflect back on all of the highlights from the year…looking back to January feels like a lifetime ago.

An Indianapolis Monthly Cover Story

Indianapolis Monthly has been a huge supporter of TBM for several years and I was so excited when they created a cover story focused on where to donate items throughout Indianapolis. They brought such well-deserved recognition to the non-profits and charities that we love supporting and introduced readers to so many other unique destinations for the items no longer serving us.

Andrea Ratcliff invited me to join her on Life.Style.Live on Wish TV to share the original donation guide and the inspiration for this cover story. As a community, we can continue to #donateanddogood and make a HUGE difference in the lives of others.

Expanding Our Incredible Team with a Record Number of Projects

For the first time in TBM history, we had the ability to serve three different clients per day on a regular basis. This allowed us to conduct 140 UNIQUE client projects - from single pantry projects to a 9-day concierge move. We layered impressive LUXE EDIT transformations, gutted some needy spaces with ELFA and were lucky enough to be a part of some dreamy California Closets designs with Principal Designer, Erin Moore.

We also formed a partnership with Jenni Egger Designs, allowing their kitchen renovation clients to benefit from a Put Away on Paper exercise prior to cabinets being signed off on. This allows a very micro look at how all of the belongings will fit into their new cabinetry, complete with a blueprint for how to unpack into the new space when the remodel is complete.

Kindness Club with Some Amazing First Graders

Every January we love gathering down at the Madam CJ Walker Theater for the Seeds of Caring Martin Luther King Day Event. I love how simple Seeds of Caring makes it to introduce littles to the beauty of giving pack through their Any Where Service projects.

This sparked an idea to create a Kindness Club at Henrik + Luna’s school this Fall. I joined forces with a fellow 1st Grade Mom Friend, Danielle Pezet, to conduct service projects for the school, the community and practice sharing kindness with each other. I’m happy to share our weekly plans and activities if you are inspired to do the same.

Showcasing Our Love of Design through the St. Margaret’s Guild Decorators’ Showhouse and Gardens

I am still pinching myself over the way the Entertaining Pantry came together for this year’s Decorators’ Showhouse & Gardens. I love having the opportunity to showcase how small storage spaces can be design-centric and inspiration, while giving back to Eskenazi Health. Being recognized by the design community with a Key Award for Supporting Area was the icing on the cake.

Some of my favorite details:

I am so grateful to the companies who provided in-kind sponsorships for these spaces including Kristy Stafford Wallcoverings & Textiles, Priority Painting, Jessica Green Artwork, Sherwin Williams, Southern Sky Photography, Foundry 317, Parkside Linen, Jenni Egger Designs, Less is Maura, Meghan Barich Creativity, Shelf Genie Indy, and ExactMats.

Organizing Our Way Through Home-A- Rama

We jumped on the chance to organize in two of the BAGI Home-A-Rama houses again this year. Joining forces with Dutch Girl, we decked out the Custom Living primary closet designed by Inspired Closets.

Jodi Pierrot invited us to showcase what we do throughout some “organized moments” peeking out of cabinets and closets in the McKenzie Pierrot House. The garage, scullery and laundry room were so fun to style and we have loved working with so many new clients who discovered our services in these homes as a result.

Chatting with Jona Wells on Indy Women Who Inspire

Jona Wells launched the Indy Women Who Inspire podcast in 2025 to amplify the voices of local women, their stories, experiences, and what makes them unique. I loved having the chance to sit down in the studio with her to reflect on the past eight years with The Baer Minimalist, but also my foundational years, my family and what my goals are for the years to come.

She ends each episode by asking the guest, “What are you going to do for yourself in the year to come.” Listen here…my answer might surprise you.

Speaking on the Power of Community at the 2025 Home Sort: Summit for Organizers

Along with seven of my organizing besties, I took the stage to speak about the Power of Community at the Home Sort Summit. This is a gathering of hundreds of professional organizers and to be able to speak about the way that these relationships have changed the course of my business (and life) was pure joy. I couldn’t imagine being on the stage with anyone else!

We also had the chance to meet the ExactMats team in person! We’ve been doing business for years but had never met IRL and it was so neat to spend time with Ken, Susan and the EM Team.

As I sit here in my pajamas with my coffee on the last day of the year, I am endlessly grateful! None of this would be possible without your support. From the bottom of my heart — thank you.

The Baer Minimalist helps busy families create ORGANIZED + STYLIZED spaces throughout Indianapolis. We can’t wait to see what 2026 holds for our team and the clients who trust us to reimagine the systems in their homes.
