31 Unassuming Area to Declutter // A New Year Challenge

Happy New Year, aspiring Minimalists! Let’s Make 2026 Your Most Organized Year Yet (or maybe just slightly more organized than last year).

I don’t know about you, but 2026 feels like a fresh planner page, a crisp label on a to-die-for basket, a drawer that’s finally going to stay organized (…right?!). If the tail end of last year had you shoving closets full and saying “I’ll deal with it in January,” well friends, the time has come.

I’ve been re-reading Ashley Piper’s book, No New Things, and am motivated to have less stuff coming in and much more intentional purchases as a general rule of thumb in 2026. One of my long-time strategies for this is to pin items to various Pinterest Boards as a parking spot for a bit before I purchase. This allows me to think about things prior to purchasing and really helps with impulse purchases. Plus, just gazing at my virtual closet that I’ve curated over the years is my kind of fun.

So back to the task at hand, we’re talking a whole lot less clutter with a sprinkle of joy. What better way to start than now, with 31 Unassuming Areas to Declutter, one for every day of January.

Over the next 31 days, we’re tackling spaces you never thought to declutter or maybe just the ones that are easier to ignore, and honestly, some of them might make you go:

🤨 “Wait… I still have THAT?”
🤣 “When did I buy this?”
😩 “Okay, THIS definitely needs to go.”

We’re going practical, peaceful, and totally doable

We’re not just decluttering drawers, we’re clearing mental space too. Your spaces impact your mood, your time, even your stress levels. Imagine walking into your home and feeling calm and a little less overwhelmed - we promise it is possible.

Below is your action plan organized by week so you can crush it without burning out! And of course, our Donation Guide is just a click away.

We are going to work through these spaces too, so come follow along on social and tag us in your before/after pics! We'd love to cheer you on!

Psst…forward this to a friend for a built-in accountability partner, chances are they need it too!

Here’s to the most organized year yet! And I’d be a total goofball if I didn’t mention that we would love to help. Book a session and let us bring structure + style to your home without the stress.
